I got my tests back today, my meteorolgy and psychology.. let's just say I did better on one that the other. Okay, I'll explain, I bet you are DYING TO KNOW WHAT I GOT. Just kidding. I got a D in Meteorology and a B in psych. Better luck next time I guess!
So, I went to work this afternoon and when I arrived Tracy was home. Tracy is the Mom. I was like.. woah hey, what's up? She's like "Didn't you get my message.." Uh, no.. "Oh, well I left you a message this morning saying you didn't have to come today because I am sick.." So I left. I rarely ever work 5 days a week. It sucks because I have no money! Oh well. I will get a job with more hours come summertime.
Remember how I said I have a pattern addiction? Well, yesterday I talked to a girl whose collection is 5000 and growing. That's right, FIVE THOUSAND. She has patterns from the 1900's! I am jealous. Maybe someday my collection will be that large.. I doubt it though, I don't know where I would put them.
I think I am going to do some laundry, I have some fabric I need to pre-shrink and also lots of towels. We are having some people over this weekend.. rather, Chris is having some people over, so we should clean up the kitchen and bathroom. Perhaps I will go to Bayshore before that though. Anyways, that's about all for today.
Life Lesson #4-
Never give a mouse a cookie. Just kidding.
The real lesson- Plan what you are going to buy at the store before you get there. Also, don't rule out certain grocery stores. You may be surprised at the deals one place has over another. I went into Sendiks today and not only were the people super friendly, but I got some vegetarian stuff for cheaper than at my local Pick N Save! AND, Aldis sometimes has great deals, but somethings are not always a deal. Watch your fliers and use coupons!
So, it seems like all of my cousins are having babies- Jessica, Shelly, Tracy, Carrie, and Jackie(age 18) who had a baby like a year ago. I feel sort of bad for my cousin Shelly because she's only 22 (yeah, yeah, she's an adult, she can make her own choices..) but she is trying to go to school and get a degree and from what I understand her boyfriend isn't the greatest guy. I can't even imagine trying to do what I am doing now while having a kid. I can barely afford to take care of myself! Anyways, that's the end of that rant.
On a different note, Shelly is my favorite cousin so I want to do something nice for her. I am thinking of making her a baby quilt but I have never made a quilt before. I think I am going to make it a tied quilt, which is cheating but I am a lazy person. I also thought it would be cool to make it out of patches of things like old sheets and clothes that we had when we were younger. If anyone reads this and has any suggestions please send them my way.
I am currently in the process of making a DS case for a friend. It's taking me forever because, well, I am lazy and get side tracked. I feel like I have no fabric to make stuff but that is a lie. I just counted and I am at approx. 110 yards total. Thats right OVER 100 YARDS. Thats 330 feet of fabric! A football field is 100 yards long... I admit it. I have an obsession. Since I don't have any pictures of my most recent projects, here's where the magic happens (I resized them via the lj thing so they look shitty, oh well):
this here is where most of my fabric is. It doesn't include the 12 yards I purchased the other day.
and here's my sewing table and machine. The bottom two drawers are filled with misc. patterns. Ok, so I have a fabric and pattern addiction. If I ever decide to make a wedding dress.. I've got a pattern. You name the garment and I probably have a pattern for it, or at least something similar to it! You might be able to notice the little blue machine in the previous picture. That is trusty blue. That thing is a work horse that will seriously sew through almost anything. If anyone is searching for a nice beginner sewing machine, I'd recommend it. It's a Kenmore Mini Ultra. BUY ONE!
That's enough for now.Life Lesson #3
Always remember to rinse out your travel mugs/water bottles. ESPECIALLY if it has something other than water. Milk goes bad very fast and is a hard smell to get out. I obviously speak from experience. If you do forget, baking soda works works very well to get smells out. Bleach also works great, but don't mix the two!
Today was an okay day. I had two tests but I don't think I did that well on them. Oh well, better luck next time.
Chris and I went to see a play at UWM, Of Mice and Men, based upon the book by John Steinbeck. It was very good and I hope to see more plays in the future. I need to write an essay about the play tomorrow and I am not really looking forward to that. Right now I am supposed to be writing an essay for my film and lit class.. hello procrastination! I am only taking 12 credits for spring, but I took 3 credits during winterim so I am on track. My classes are as follows:
-Film and Literature
It's a pretty light load, but actually a lot of writing. Anywho, back to my home work!
Life Lesson #2-
If you are unhappy with a product you purchased, write the company! They almost always will send you some sort of reimbursement. I recently got a new Oral B fancy vibrating tooth brush- for free!! Companies also love compliments. Try it out, you may be pleasantly surprised!
It's been well over a year since I updated my journal. I don't think anyone reads it, but that doesn't matter. This is a sort of recap of my life as of today-
- I am living in Riverwest (I was living on the lower east side, it's easier to find a place to park here but my car was never broken into down there and it was broken into here in Riverwest)- it's ok, it's a great house but I don't really like the city.
- I am going to UW-Milwaukee, I left Alverno because it was too expensive and they screwed me over.
- I am still with Chris, we celebrated our fourth year together this month.
- I have two hamsters, Steve McQueen and Kurt Vonnegut, that are very cute and very fat.
- I bought a new (to me) car but it doesn't work, so now I have two cars and neither of them work properly.
- I am currently a nanny and it's ok, I don't work enough though.
- I was working at a bank but I quit and I perhaps should have just stuck it out.
- So now I am poor and have very little money due to being unemployed for 2.5 months.
- In my unemployed months I got heavy into sewing. I bought a new sewing machine with some money I scrounged up. I ended up making nearly all of my Christmas presents and they went over pretty well.
- I recently learned how to make paper and it's pretty fun but kind of messy.
- I am officially junior status at school. Regardless, I still have about 2.5 years left.
- I am going to do some backpacking this summer and I am really excited about it.
- I am also going to see The Police in concert and that's exciting as well.
That's about it. I thought it would be neat to update this more often with pictures of my crafts and Life Lessons, that may be extremely obvious and stupid but none the less something I don't think about, or interesting things that I learn everyday. Whenever I think I know everything there is to know I am presented with things that surprise and excite me. If anyone wants to chat about crafts I am always around and love talking about them!
Today's Life Lesson #1-
Do not leave your 6x24" plastic ruler/cutting guide on the floor. It will most likely get stepped on and it will crack.
I'm not sure if anyone reads this but what ev hear goes nothin.. a brief update of my life (in no particular order!)
- I succesfully finished my first year of college
- I was accepted to Alverno College in Milwaukee
- Chris and I are still together and doing very well
- I went to South Dakota and had a fking awesome time
- I went to Summerfest and saw Pearl Jam and Tom Petty BOTH NIGHTS
- I am still working at Menards, in the garden center, but I am thinking about doing something different
- my 00 hole in my ear is all closed up
- my hair is getting long but I want to cut it
- I got a season pass to Six Flags so we do that on wednesdays
- I drove out of state for the first time yesterday ( I am afraid of driving!)
- my cat, enid, is still fat
- fiona the cat had two kittens but one was stillborn and the other didn't last through the night.. it was a very sad night
- jack the cat is still an idiot, but now a nutless idiot
- I've been thinking about god a lot lately
So, I could probably make seperate entries for each of those bullets but I don't think I am ambitious enough to do that. I'm outtie 5000.

Today seems to be going well. I got some rare Boards of Canada music (for freeee) and I got FIVE grape fruit snacks in one package. I have been getting all orange lately and finally, the last package, I got some grape ones. I also got an A on a paper I wrote up in about 2 hours. the only reason I was really proud of it was because loads of people got F's.
last, but most importantly, chris comes home tonight. I can not wait. I am going crazy! soo exciting. SIX MONTHS. FOUR HOURS. yikes.
on a negative note, finals = next week, booo.
oh well, after that I will have some time offff! Well I really really need to get some cleaning done!

seventy-eight more days until my love comes home!! and today he turns 19! and my cousin turns 20 today.. it's weird thinking about getting older.. like what if all my plans go no where??
today I counted the days for the first time in awhile. I did like when he first left and it was too depressing.
so, no one reads this so it doesn't really matter.. but I will write anyways.
two weeks ago I went to missouri and I saw chris at his graduation. it was really nice, but really really depressing too, seeing as we only got to spend a day with him. Saying good bye the second time is just as hard as the first. He's in Maryland now and I do get phone calls from him and that makes me as happy as a bee. I can even get through a conversation with out crying like a baby! but anyways, I am really looking forward to December.
school is pretty gay, but I am enjoying it.. and work is gay but it's ok too. I get paid tomorrow but it will be a very small amount.. like 60 dollars haha. enough to pay for some gas and food. I spend an awful lot of money on food. I just can't resist delicious fruit cups at Wendy's and it's not my fault that Arby's is right next to Wendys, and has delicious mozzarella sticks AND IT also not my fault that they are right across the street from work! mmm just thinking about it makes me hungry.

A Random Lyric :
we celebrate our sense of each other

- Music:sufjan stevens - The Man of Metropolis Steals Our Hearts
I was watching Pulp Fiction the other night and the first time I watched it I didn't like it, but I like it more and more every time I watch it.
I love the parts when Butch and his girlfriend Fabienne are talking. A long time ago I asked Chris "If there is one movie character that reminds you of me, who would it be?" and he told me it would be her.
I like it when she is talking about wanting pot, a pot belly. she says:
"But on a woman, a pot belly is very sexy. The rest of you is normal. Normal face, normal legs, normal hips, normal ass, but with a big, perfectly round pot belly. If I had one, I'd wear a tee-shirt two sizes too small to accentuate it."
haha.. I think I have a pot belly.
then butch says:
"You think guys would find that attractive?"
and she says:
"I don't give a damn what men find attractive. It's unfortunate what we find pleasing to the touch and pleasing to the eye is seldom the same."
It is so cute.

while you are away, my heart comes undone.
slowly unravels in a ball of yarn.
the devil collects it, with a grin,
our love in a ball of yarn.
he'll never return it.
so when you come back, we'll have to make new love.
any crap, the last entry was super emo and I guess I've got good news today. I did get my license the other day so that is a huge burden off of my shoulders. I got a letter from Chris today. The first one since monday. it's like, I am so happy to get them and I cry like a baby as I read them. He seems to be doing pretty well.
more good news.. I will get to see him in september. only for a day though. it will be hard to leave him for a second time, but after I see him it will be like 3 months until he gets to come home and 3 months is much more reasonable than 6.
I am going into town now to drop off some applications and maybe pick up some more, I WILL get a job.
can you guess which one is me? ;) I don't think it's that hard. well I am outtie 5000.

no one has to read this but I need to get it out.
First off, fuck your bitch and the click you claim. West side when we ride come equipped with game. You claim to be a playa but I fucked your wife.
second, nothing has gone right for me this summer. I have no job, and it's not that I am not looking. I havn't been out of the house much, I just sit in here reading my books or sulking and thinking about how much I suck.
I failed my road test. then I smashed my car a week later. my dad quit his job. As of the end of this month I will have no medical insurance and I am an epileptic. Hopefully he won't be a dumb ass and he will find a job, soon.
I have been eating all the time. I gained five pounds and I feel gross. I start school on september 6th and I have no money. and when I say no money I mean it.
my grandma is more excited about my 19 year old cousin have a baby than me succeeding in anything. she loves to make me feel like crap. she said "did you get your drivers lisence yet?" "no grandma, not yet." "well jacki got hers on the day she turned 16." jacki is my younger cousin. I told my grandma the classes I was taking and she responds with "hah, well tell me how you do in those." thanks for the encouragment grandma.
I told my dad my classes and that I am getting 12 credits for the semester, and he said, "wow that's pretty low. I thought normal was like 18 or 20." wrong. 12 is plenty. jeeze, I am bitter and in a horrible mood.
in other good news, eh nevermind there isn't any good news.
did I mention that I miss Chris?
I wish I was this age again.
- Music:sufjan stevens
I don't really have any good news so this will be short.
I feel like such a baby because I miss Chris so much already. He won't be home until December and everytime I think of that I feel like screaming. I know everything will be ok, I am just really sad right now. I will be able to see him in like 9 weeks.. but until then there will be really no communication besides letters. but letters are sweet and I am looking forward to his first letter. yeah so I am emo.
does anyone want me to come and live with them? I'll do it for free!
well, actually the past 2 weeks before monday were amazing. Chris and I pretty much did all sorts of nothing together. yup, I took some pictures too. some are old, some are new :)
this is my dad, doesn't the sky look wonderful?
we went to see Howl's Moving Castle at the Oriental Theater and it was awesome :)

I am out of school now.. I never have to go to high school again. I would be excited but I have like five more years of school left, so there's nothing to get too excited over.
this summer is going to be a bad one. I sound like a big baby, but I will miss Chris a lot, he leaves July 5th for basic training in missouri, and then he goes to AIT and he won't be back until december. that is a long time for someone to be gone. I will with out a doubt be alright, but I will feel very sad. I will probably just work all summer long, as much as I can.
anyways, friday was my graduation and it was a pretty good day. Chris, Steve and I went to Mayfair to eat food ( I had rocky rococo's, mmmmm)I came home and Chris went to his house to pack and then came back to go to my graduation. Afterwards was a very very silly time, we went to Beansnappers with a whole bunch of people. It was a very nice night. Saturday Chris left for New York in the early morning and I got to see pretty lindsey at her graduation party. I forgot my camera so I didn't get to take any pictures :( I did take pictures today though at the Jackson Parade. My little sister Abi was in the Parade and she is so cute! sooooo now I am just sitting around thinking that I should do something besides fiddle with Photoshop. what ev, here are some pictures and with out a cut as usual.
